I wish peace in the world especially in the Middle East, that the Annapolis conference brings a solution to this ongoing conflict!

I wish that the socialist family were to tackle the problem of gender equality. On 22nd February, we will have another gender pay gap sad celebration. Women, who have to put up with more strain and responsibilities should be rewarded as men are. It is nothing against men, but more in favour of women who have to unite to shut the gap. Therefore, I wish an even stronger PES Women and take the opportunity to thank them for their work!

3. Tackle global warming and climate change for good par Markus le lundi 17 décembre 2007 à 11h05

The Bali conference won't obviousely bring the miraculous solutions to fight global warming and climate change. I wish the EU to be an example for the rest of the world and that it doesn't hide behind the lack of reaction of other countries like the US or China and satisfy itself with lukewarm solutions. The PES manifesto is a way to make ourselves heard in the next European elections. So let's go for it and don't give up!

I would definitively wish that the developing countries could see a serious improvement on their living conditions. Making this real is also up to the "Northern countries", namely by negotiating fair terms on the EPAs and more generaly by giving developing countries a real opportunity to develop themselves (not seeing them as a source of raw materials and thus ignoring the human component and by accepting their right to a fair life and a fair world balance - economicaly and in terms of living conditions).

Mon voeu est que notre famille de pensée prenne enfin au sérieux la nécessité de mettre nos actions en cohérence avec nos discours.

Si nous disons vouloir une Europe de Paix et de prospérité partagée, alors il faut que nous nous en donnions collectivement et individuellement les moyens.

Les bons sentiments, c'est bien. L'action concertée et réfléchie, c'est mieux. 

7. My biggest wish: A great PES manifesto par together le lundi 17 décembre 2007 à 22h52

Let's shortly imagine: The PES elaborating a common program with ambitious targets, showing that all socialists together are willing to shape and change Europe for the better. That's quite a wish isn't it? And I would have never thought that we could ever be so close to achieve this in the near future...

We will make it come true, together!

so how is this programme going to be elaborated?

i propose to have a forum with categories where people can put forward new proposals and rate (vote on) existing ones. to read this forum should be easy from the pes front page without logging in.

i would say some aims to be aspired are peace, sustainable development, privacy, economic development.

the latter through quality in media and education, equal access to these markets, setting up a common information infrastructure (a broadcast index of keywords, sources and selections).   

peace through convincing Turkey to recognize the Kurds.

sustainability through higher taxes on fossil fuels and pollution (replacing taxes on personal income).

Dear Gerard - thank you for your interest in the PES manifesto campaign and this website - and for letting us now about your New Year's wishes! The functions you mention - writing proposals, sharing them on the website and rating other people's proposals - are already available on this site. If you create an account - PES activist or guest - you can publish 'posts' (articles about manifesto-relevant topics or suggestions for what the PES manifesto should say about a particular topic) and comment on the articles that are already online.  We have chosen to have log-ins to ensure seriosity and dedication among users - and please note that there are no restrictions on who can sign up.

C'est uns subjection tout comme l laïcité est le liant entre tous les français j'aimerais que cechapitre figure aussi dans la constitution de l'EU  Ce serait une garantie contre toute tentation de control du parlement par des extremistes de tout bord. Et comme moi par exemple qui suis lllEU dans la caraïbes  nous devrions avoir une particularité au vue de notre eloignementEt que soit ptrids en compte notre specificité Afin que tous les mebres sache et n'ignore pas notre existence Car ous ne mentioner pa notre existence nul part alors que nous sommes français depuis 1492

1) Archives: for on the left-hand side of this site you will find the 'Yourspace archives'. This is a complete archive of all posts, sorted by month and date.

2) The four themes: in the horizontal menu you will find the four manifesto themes: save our planet, New Social European, European democracy & diversity and EU in the world. If you click one of the themes you will have all posts within this category displayed - sorted by date.

13. Wishes for the PES Manifesto par Jean-Marc OISEL le vendredi 21 décembre 2007 à 16h43

Je souhaite voir la création d'un véritable gouvernement européen qui ne soit pas contre les gouvernements nationaux mais qui soit en mesure d'appliquer au niveau européen ce qu'il y a de meilleurs dans les nations ; je pense notamment à tout ce qui concerne le bien public : les services publics, la politique sociale et aussi faire naître un véritable sentiment, voire un véritable engouement pour l'Europe parmi les nations et les peuples euroopéens. Concernant l'Europe nous avons besoin de plus de social mais aussi de plus d'enthousiasme pour cette grande idée pour qu'il y ait un "moteur" incitant à la réflexion et à l'action au coeur de chacune des sociétés européennes.

Je regrette, mais il faut dire qu'en Roumanie le discours sur " Le Bien Public" est pris en dehors,  la doctrine sociale-democratique n'est pas credible parce que [probablement] les orators ne sont pas leurs-meme des veritables sociale-democratiques. Malheureusement en Roumanie, la bataille politique c'est un veritable guerre entre leaders politiques comme des hommes pas des vectors des doctrines politiques. C'est pour cela que les citoyens associent les doctrines au leaders politiques parce que le desinteres pour la culture politique est generale. La grande "perdante" c'est la doctrine sociale-democrate  qui aurait de gagner legerement tous les elections dans une pays eminement sociale.
